Workout Volume Calculator

Workout volume is a simple way to summarize how much loaded work you performed: sets multiplied by reps multiplied by weight. It is not the whole story, because exercise selection, range of motion, effort, and fatigue matter too. Still, volume is useful when you want a quick check on whether a session was meaningfully bigger, smaller, or simply different from another one.

This calculator lets you add multiple exercises and optional muscle groups. You will see volume per exercise, total session volume, and a muscle-group breakdown when labels are provided. Use it for quick comparisons, but avoid treating volume as a score you must always maximize. Better training usually means enough hard work, recovered well, repeated consistently.

A calculator gives you one snapshot. WOLF tracks the trend across body, diet, and workouts so you can see whether the plan is actually working.

How to use this

  1. Enter each exercise with sets, reps, and weight.
  2. Add a muscle group if you want a breakdown by body part.
  3. Use Add row for more exercises, then compare total and group volume.

FAQ

What does workout volume mean?

Here it means sets times reps times weight for loaded movements.

Does higher volume always mean better training?

No. Volume only helps when effort, recovery, and exercise quality are also in place.

Can I mix kg and lb?

Use one unit within a session so the totals stay meaningful.

Should bodyweight exercises be included?

You can enter an estimated load, but bodyweight volume is less exact than loaded barbell or machine work.
